The Commedia Cinderella

By Lane Riosley

Oct. 28-Nov. 13, 2011 • Wells Fargo Playhouse
Front Orchestra $18 / General Section $14

In this funny, fast-paced show, the Tarradiddle Players put a slapstick spin on one of the world’s most famous fairytales. Beautiful Cinderella is forced to work as a kitchen maid by her mean Stepmother and two ugly Stepsisters, but thanks to a little help from her Fairy Godmother, she still has a chance to win the hand of the handsome Prince. With roots in the humorous, physical acting style of Italian Commedia dell’arte, this production is a lighthearted treat.

Your little one has been dancing and twirling since she came into this world. Channel this energy into something beautiful by enrolling in classes at Jami Masters School of Dance (JMSD). Classes start at age 2 through adults and include ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz, tap, pilates and creative movement and tumbling classes for tiny tots. Jami has been teaching children to dance for 20 years and is passionate about her work. At the heart of the philosophy of JMSD is the concept of instilling the love of dance. They encourage each child to be the best he/she can be and they do this in a loving, caring, nurturing and non-competitive environment. Through carefully supervised dance training, students gain confidence and charm, while developing stronger, healthier bodies. It doesn’t matter who will or will not become a professional dancer. What does matter is that the children in this program will be better at whatever they choose to do in life because of this incredible experience.
