Small Hands Big Art: Life is short. Use more glitter.

Wondering if your kids are getting enough glitter these days?  According to small hands big art, a new children's art studio in South Charlotte, most children are getting far less than the recommended daily allowances, resulting in increased bouts of boredom and an insatiable appetite for video games and the Disney Channel.  A recent survey revealed that it is not uncommon for many children to only be permitted the use of glitter during sleepovers at someone else's house, or only allowed to indulge in one or two ordinary colors under tightly monitored adult supervision.

At small hands big art, the glitter is both plentiful and colorful, and children are encouraged to sprinkle it liberally as they unleash their creativity!  Small hands big art provides art enrichment classes, camps and parties for children & young adults, with classes running in six week sessions (although children can join at any time during the session, space permitting).  They like to expose children to a wide variety of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, clay, collage, printmaking and construction.   A low teacher/student ratio is maintained, with classes typically averaging between eight to twelve kids, with two adults at all times.

Conveniently located at the Fountains Shopping Center at the corner of Ardrey Kell & Tom Short Roads, their sunny studio provides a lively space that is safe, engaging, organized and welcoming. Children feel free and uninhibited to explore their creativity without worrying about making a mess – and moms don't have to scrub markers off the walls or paint out of the carpet!

small hands big art believes it is important to provide children with artistic freedom and latitude to make their own creative choices and work at their own pace, while downplaying the aesthetic value of the finished product.  Regardless of the project, materials or medium they are working with, children are given suggested topics and techniques to stimulate their imagination and help them to visualize their ideas.  They are not given prescribed step-by-step procedures, directions or examples to copy, which can inhibit self-expression and lead a frustrating urge for perfection.

Want to try it out?  Call the studio today to register your children for a complimentary trial class!  And don't forget to consider this fun and creative venue for your next birthday party!
