Sharon United Methodist Weekday School
Sharon United Methodist Weekday School, located in the heart ofCharlotte’s SouthPark community, was started over 30 years ago as a one day Mother’s Morning Out program, and has grown tremendously since then! Our preschool has classes for ages one through four, and in the 2010-11 school year, will offer Transitional Kindergarten. Our program hours are 9:30 – 1:00 and offers classes ranging from 1 to 5 days per week.
Our small class sizes encourage children’s growth in many areas while providing a safe and nurturing environment. The emphasis is on developmentally appropriate, play-based learning, and we provide opportunities for the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being of children.
Research suggests that young children build important critical reasoning skills through unstructured, hands-on play. At our school, we provide lots of unstructured and fun activities. As children are doing, they are learning—about science, math, writing, reading, and how to get along with others. These valuable intellectual and social skills help children achieve life-long success and satisfaction.
